I have had these boots for 5 years now (I have them in both black and brown) and they still fit and feel great. I have had them each resoled once. The leather is soft but durable, and wears well. They sort of have a cowboy rugged feel, but still enough style to wear them with a skirt. I read the review about the wide calf area. I didn't find this at all (I don't think I have big calves (I weigh 120) but who knows. I find they are one of the few boots that fit well under a tighter boot cut jean. They are not "snug" around the calf, but the boots don't "show" or "snag" (meaning there is enough room to wear under (not tucked in) a pair of jeans (or at least the ones I wear). I still get compliments on these kickers. Gotta love that. FRYE makes a great shoe. (Click to see more…)

I really enjoy the boots and the price was great. Like with any boot, getting the correct size is difficult without being fitted. I went with my usual size, and they didn't fit as comfortably as I would have liked. I made some adjustments with insoles and they became increasingly more comfortable. I recommend going to a boot fitter who sells the brand you are buying prior to making the purchase. In terms of style, appearance, and affordability, these boots are fantastic.

I've been looking for a great pair or authentic looking cowgirl boots for a while now (2 years). When I saw these it was between the Jessica Simpson version and these. These were $60 cheaper and I love them. Small heel and very comfortable to wear. A great color; authentic looking. Overall worth the money and a great boot. There great for shorter people too... I didn't want a calf height book for fear it would make me look shorter than I am (5ft). These however, go to an inch above the ankle and look great! (Click to see more…)

I bought these boots for my husband as a gift. They were too wide so I returned them for a different width.(my fault,ordered too wide)They were ordered from [...]. It has been OVER a month since they received them. We still haven't received his boots. I am getting VERY frustrated. I have sent several e-mails!!! They have responded... only say the order has been processed...so where are the boots?????? I wish I had just gotten a refund, it would have been much easier! I have lusted over this boot for months and when I found it on sale here I couldn't help myself! On every level this boot delivers! The somewhat distressed leather is soft and thick and the color is beautiful (I got brown). The heel height is perfect and comfortable for a full day of wear. With the rounded toe I opted for a 7 (I am usually a 7.5) and it is perfect. The shaft is pretty wide but it sits well (not too slouchy) and looks great with jeans or leggings. (I do think its a bit awkward wearing jeans over the boot, however, with such a wide leg shaft.) In the week since I received these, I've worn them out a few times, mostly just around town but also to a very muddy/slushy festival. I cleaned them easily with a nubuck/suede brush - I think that they will definitely only get better with age and actual wear! I have never gotten more compliments on a pair of shoes as I have with these. I even had a man chase me down to get the name and brand so that he could surprise his girlfriend who had just fallen in love with them! They are pretty much boot perfection and will last a lifetime! So comfy, so classic stylish....I get tons of compliments. These ain't your sissy italian boots - these are as americana as they come. May as well be super glued to my feet. Order it 1/2 size smaller than your normal size.

Oh, and get it from [...] if you're afraid of it not fitting, since they have free shipping both ways. I think I can say that on Amazon now that they bought Zappo's. :) But I think I can confidently say you won't be returning these, unless you don't have the income to cover the child support bills that will result. Within the last year, my husband bought himself his first adult cowboys boots. They were brown durango's and he wore them so much he soon begged for some new ones in black for Christmas. Well he had also recently purchased a motorcycle so I ordered these boots the same size as his cowboys boots and gave them to him for Christmas. He certainly wasn't expecting these boots and might have been a little disappointed they weren't the black armadillo boots that he asked for.
Well it has been around 2 weeks and he absolutely loves these boots!!! The rubber bottoms are great when he is on the bike and they were easy to break in. He wears them all the time now and says they were his favorite gift from this holiday season.
He did say the would prefer floorboards rather than pegs for his motorcycle, but he is always looking for new things to upgrade on that thing anyway. :-)

I purchased this pair of boots in the light tan color to replace an old worn out pair of similar boots I'd had for several years. I was looking for another pair of casual, leather, mid-calf boots in this color and had not found anything I liked for the past 2 years. Many of the styles I found in stores were too high to wear under jeans, and I wanted the option to wear them under or over jeans. I was afraid I would never find another pair until I found these online. I prefer to buy shoes in a store where I can try them on, but I went ahead and ordered these and am very pleased with them so far. They're very similar to my old pair (which had side zippers), but they feel like I've worn them for years. I wore them today when I took my dog for a walk and they're very comfortable! They are also true to size. I'm considering ordering a second pair just so I'll have them when this pair eventually wears out.
